What Is a Vision Team?
A Vision Team is a group of key leaders and trusted influencers — both historic and emerging — who carry buy-in, dream together, and help guide the organization forward. They're the builders, dreamers, and advisors who stay engaged long after the cohort ends.
How It Works
Three clear steps from gathering your team to implementing your plan.
Gather Your Vision Team
Assemble your team of key leaders and influencers. Confirm your region can bring together at least 5 participating organizations.
Attend the Cohort
Complete assessments, identify strengths and weaknesses across key functions, engage in facilitated dialogue, and build your strategic plan.
Return + Implement
Go home with a clear plan. Keep your Vision Team active for an ongoing season. Optional consultant coaching is available to guide implementation.
Bring a Cohort to Your Area
Want to rally churches and organizations in your region? Here's what it takes to launch a Regional Cohort.
Minimum: 5 Vision Teams
At least 5 organizations need to participate to launch a Regional Cohort in your area.
What a host champion provides:
- Helps rally participating organizations in the region
- Provides a local coordination contact
- Helps identify a venue or preferred city/metro area
What You'll Do at the Cohort
A hands-on experience built around assessments, dialogue, and planning.
Complete Assessments
Your team will take Church Life assessments that evaluate health and vitality across multiple functions and perspectives — from senior leaders to lay leadership.
Interpret Results Together
Facilitated discussion helps your Vision Team understand what the data reveals about your organization's strengths and growth areas.
Identify Strengths & Weaknesses
See clearly where you're thriving and where attention is needed across key functions — not just gut feeling, but real insight.
Build a Strategic Plan
Leave with a clear, actionable plan for the next season — priorities, focus areas, and next steps your entire team can rally behind.
Church Life assessments evaluate organizational health and vitality through the lens of 15 Vital Functions, gathering perspectives from multiple levels of leadership for a comprehensive picture.
